Prana Home | Kitchen Arrangement
Anchor of Prosperity…
K itchen is one of the most important areas in the house based on Feng Shui and Vastu Shastra.
First of all, the arrangement of spaces in the kitchen should be done in such a way that it is easy to use the 3 most important items – the stove, the sink and the fridge. In professional term, this is called the Kitchen Work Triangle. According to the Work Triangle principle, the most effective kitchen layouts revolve around a trio of fictitious straight lines that form a triangle between the stove, the refrigerator, and the sink and the purpose is to make sure you can use your kitchen appliances with ease.

- The triangle’s sides should not exceed 9 feet in length or be any less than 4 feet.
- For cleaning up and filling the dishwasher, leave at least 18 inches of counter space on either side of the sink.
- To unpack groceries, leave at least 15 inches of counter space close to the refrigerator.
- To prepare food, leave 3 feet of counter space available next to the range or cooktop.
- The area should be doubled to 6 feet if there will be two cooks working at once.
- Avoid any major traffic routes that pass across the work triangle.
